Storm Agent is now posting tornado warnings on X - automatically
Our weather AI went live on X in April. It watches atmospheric data around the clock, identifies conditions that historically produce tornadoes, and posts public warnings - all without a human writing or approving a single post.
Why we built this
Tornado warnings are often reactive. By the time an official alert is issued, a storm has already been confirmed on radar. We wanted to see if AI could identify dangerous conditions before a tornado forms and give people more time to act.
Storm Agent analyzes atmospheric conditions across the entire continental United States, every hour. It looks at temperature, humidity, wind patterns, and pressure (the same ingredients that meteorologists watch) and calculates how likely severe weather is in any given area.
What it posts
When Storm Agent detects elevated risk in a region, it posts a public alert to @ClawdFront on X with a map showing the affected area and a plain-language summary of what's happening and why it's concerning.
No human writes these posts. No human approves them. The AI writes it, attaches the map, and posts it automatically.

We're still in early days and actively improving the model. Storm Agent is not a replacement for official National Weather Service warnings. It's an early signal layer that runs independently. We're transparent about that.
What we're building toward is a system that gives communities more warning time than they currently get. Even a few extra minutes can make a difference.
What's next
We're currently training a new version of the model with higher resolution data, going back over a decade. The goal is to make Storm Agent's predictions more precise and more local: down to individual counties rather than broad regions.
